Lake Rules

ETANG DES LANDES – FISHERY RULES 

  • Please do not arrive before 2pm & departure should be no later then 10am the following Saturday
  • Only boilies & pellets supplied by the venue are allowed as feed, you may bring a max of strictly 2kg per angler of your own fresh / frozen hookbaits. All baits brought on site must be from a well known bait company i.e Mainline / CC Moore etc, WE WILL CHECK ! Mainline Cell would be a good choice as it’s very similar to our venue bait, IF IN DOUBT CONTACT ASK BEFORE YOUR TRIP WHAT IS ALLOWED ! – (Please see our bait & prices page for more info on this)
  • No Particle baits, No nut baits, No Groundbaits, No liquids (Inc glugs & goo’s), No plastic or fake baits
  • Any fish suspected of being 50lb or over MUST NOT be removed from the water, we provide all equipment for dealing with the larger fish in the water. You may want to bring your waders for the colder months as you will have to get into the lake ! All other carp can be removed from the water using the sling provided & must be weighed over the cradle provided. PLEASE MAKE SURE PECTORAL FINS ARE LYING FLAT BEFORE LIFTING
  • Any fish caught weighing 50lb or over you MUST contact Dave or Tina, this is anytime day or night so we can check weights & take photos for our records
  • Rig tubing must be used – Min length 30cm’s (No leaders of any kind allowed)
  • Coated hooklinks only, a small section of around 30mm may be stripped back from the hook to allow for movement
  • Micro Barbed hooks only – Min Size 6
  • No Zig Rig Fishing
  • No curved long shank nailer type hooks allowed
  • Large Carp cradles & slings are provided by the venue – YOU MUST USE THESE, Do not bring your own on site
  • Min 42” landing nets must be used & will be dipped by us on your arrival
  • Max of 3 rods per angler
  • Min of 15lb line (NO BRAID ALLOWED AS MAINLINE EXCEPT FOR MARKER / SPOD)
  • Safe rigs only / No fixed leads
  • Antiseptic must be used on all hook holds & any other injuries to fish
  • No sacking of fish at any time
  • Only leave fish in slings until they have recovered & while camera equipment is being sorted. NO FISH ARE TO BE LEFT IS SLINGS FOR MORNING PHOTOS THEY ARE NOT DESIGNED FOR THIS. LEARN TO TAKE NIGHT SHOTS !
  • No rods to be left unattended at ANY TIME
  • If you get snagged on anything DO NOT pull for a break (Contact Dave or Tina so we can resolve the issue
  • Please keep fish wet while unhooking & taking pictures, use the watering cans provided
  • No standing while holding carp (unless you are in the water)
  • No open fires or ground bbq’s allowed (USE BBQ BY THE LODGE)
  • ACCESS TO THE DAM WALL IS STRICTLY OUT OF BOUNDS. NO ENTRY, INCLUDING BAITING UP OR DROPPING RIGS
  • Fish from designated swims only
  • No one under the age of 16 allowed to fish for Carp
  • Drug & alcohol abuse will not be tolerated, anybody found intoxicated will be asked to leave the venue & no refund will be given
  • NO LITTER PLEASE (USE THE BINS PROVIDED)
  • IF YOU HAVE ANY PROBLEMS WHAT SO EVER LIKE REMOVING THE HOOK OR YOU FIND ANY DAMAGE ON ANY OF OUR FISH CALL DAVE DAY OR NIGHT FOR ASSISTANCE – WE ARE HERE TO HELP!
